Questions
Is it a real phone number?
Yes. It’s a real number, not a relay. Anyone can call or text it the ordinary way, from any phone.
Do I need a second SIM or another phone?
No. The number lives inside the app, on the phone you already have, separate from the number on your SIM.
How does pricing work?
Every plan includes a phone number — larger plans include more. Outgoing calls and texts use credits — one credit is one minute or one message to Canada and the US. Every destination’s price is on the Rates screen, so you see the cost before you spend anything.
Are my messages end-to-end encrypted?
No, and no app offering a real phone number can honestly say otherwise. SMS and ordinary calls travel over carrier networks that can’t carry end-to-end encryption. What the app does is keep your personal number away from people you’d rather not give it to.
Can I call emergency services?
No. The app can’t reach 112, 911, 999 or any other emergency number. Use your phone’s own dialler on your normal mobile service for emergencies.
How do I delete my account?
From Settings, at any time. It releases your number and removes what was attached to it.
